The adult costume trend for 2014 is about having some laughs.  Since the 2004 movie "Mean Girls" the big costume companies made skirts shorter every year until they vanished altogether.  But we didn't buy it. Literally.

Adults shopped for so called Sexy costumes and increasingly rejected super revealing outfits. Now a decade later, Funny costumes are the new sexy, like this 3D Godzilla hand. 

Big fuzzy animals, nostalgia and fantasy like unicorns, and pretty much anything that will get a laugh at the party is trending.  Costumes you could wear to your office and still meet the dress code.  Sassy not sleazy.   It's not about modesty.  It's about being comfortable, original and having fun.
